About the creator
Hello, my name is Lindsay Oberst, and I created Word Zeal. I’ve been called a word zealot, and I like that.
When writing flows like breathing, I’m home.
Who is Lindsay Oberst?
I’m an Atlanta freelance writer. Here in Georgia, I’m a member of Kill Your Darlings ATL, a community for young writers.
I have a degree in journalism from The University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. I focused on magazines and also achieved certificates in creative writing and new media. I’ve written essays, articles and creative works for print and online publications.
What else does Lindsay do?
- I write about art, culture, literary, technology and social good.
- I write short fiction and poetry.
- I use social media and technology to explore, share and connect.
- I craft ideas and plans, not of all of which I’ve yet to explore.
How long have you written?
I’ve always written ever since I can remember, although most of my early creative writing is about dust mites, gardens and a mouse named Meecy (in other words, no one would really want to read it, and I wouldn’t let them if they tried).
What do you like about writing?
I most like writing about passionate people who wake up in the morning and feel alive (not only jolted by coffee). I like investigating, understanding and sharing the passions of others.
